Internet
Tarz works offline. An internet connection is only needed:
- once, to activate a licence on a computer;
- about once a month, for a short automatic refresh of the licence (Tarz keeps working 30 more days if it cannot connect);
- to check for updates and, if you choose a cloud model, for the AI designer.
Transferring files to the machine
Tarz writes the machine file to any folder. To carry it to the embroidery machine, use a USB stick formatted in FAT32 (most machines do not read exFAT or NTFS), a USB cable or your machine's own transfer software. Older machines need short file names: Tarz offers an 8-character name automatically when needed.
Linux
The AppImage runs on most recent distributions; the .deb package is for Debian and Ubuntu. The 3D preview needs a working OpenGL driver.
